Metallographic Grinding and Polishing Machine Manufacturer: Introduction to the Operation of Metallographic Grinding and Polishing Machines

Release Date:

2021-11-02

The metallographic polishing machine consists of basic components, including a base, a polishing plate, polishing cloth, a polishing cover, and a lid. The motor is mounted on the base, and the tapered sleeve that secures the polishing disc is connected to the motor shaft via screws. The polishing cloth is fastened to the polishing disc using a retaining ring, and the motor is started by a switch on the base. The sample can then be pressed by hand against the rotating polishing disc for polishing.

During the polishing process on the metallographic grinding and polishing machine, the polishing fluid is drained through a drainage pipe in a plastic plate mounted on the base and collected in a square tray positioned beside the machine. When the machine is not in use, the polishing cover prevents dust and other debris from falling onto the polishing cloth, thereby maintaining optimal performance. Tips for using a metallographic grinding and polishing machine:

1. The tungsten carbide layer typically serves as a reinforcement layer, reducing frictional resistance, enhancing machining accuracy, improving cutting performance, and extending tool life.

2. Variable-frequency automatic tracking technology, development of skin-pattern processing, and automated ultrasonic die metallographic polishing machines and automated ultrasonic EDM die metallographic polishing machines.

3. By extruding abrasive material from one cylindrical mandrel to another, the constrained workpiece undergoes a grinding action. Through pre-adjusted stroke positions and preset honing times, the workpiece is ground, chamfered, and polished. Extrusion-type honing machines offer the advantages of convenient adjustment, simple operation, and versatile functionality.

4. The die metallographic grinding and polishing machine is used to secure parts and fixtures in designated positions and to apply compressive pressure to the abrasive material. The compressive honing machine features two opposing grinding wheel cylinders that, when closed, clamp or hold the workpiece in place.
