Fifty Enterprises Visit Weiyi in Laizhou to Observe the Outcomes of the “Provincial-Level Management Project”

2021 On June 24, more than 70 representatives—including officials from six bureau-level departments such as the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology and the Municipal Development and Reform Commission, industrial leaders from various towns and subdistricts, and executives from 50 large-scale enterprises in Laizhou City—visited Weiyi Experimental Instrument Manufacturing Co., Ltd. to conduct a site visit and benchmark study under the “Enterprise Standardized Management Upgrade Project.”
In the product exhibition hall, Wang Yaoyi, Chairman of Weiyi Company, provided a detailed overview of the company’s development journey:
After 20 years of development, Laizhou Weiyi has grown into a leading domestic enterprise in the R&D and manufacturing of metallographic preparation equipment, preparation consumables, and hardness testers. It is recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise, was awarded the title of “Industry Hidden Champion” in 2018, and was designated a “National Intellectual Property Advantage Enterprise” by the China National Intellectual Property Administration in 2019.
2019 In that year, the rapidly growing Weiyi Company was selected by the municipal government as one of the first 20 pilot enterprises for the “Laizhou City Enterprise Scale Management Upgrade Project.” Management experts were stationed at the company to instill modern management principles and establish a 5A management system comprising management methodologies, models, systems, tools, and procedures. Following a year of transformation and upgrading, Weiyi Company achieved a qualitative leap in its operational management, emerging as a benchmark enterprise for the 5A management system.
In the final assembly workshop, Wang Yaoyi briefed the guests: The company has always been committed to “manufacturing test instruments that deliver stable performance and exceptional durability for our customers.” As a result, Weiyi products have earned increasing recognition and trust from users, driving the company’s annual growth rate to 30% and leading to a situation of supply falling short of demand. In 2020, the company partnered with a renowned domestic consulting firm to introduce lean manufacturing principles, fully implement 5S management, streamline and optimize the production floor, and cultivate a manufacturing culture centered on “obsessively identifying and eliminating waste in the manufacturing process” and the belief that “a great product is born from good character.”
During the on-site visit, leaders from the Bureau of Industry and Information Technology fully recognized and commended Weiyi’s management achievements. They recommended that Weiyi’s best practices be widely promoted, enabling more enterprises in Laizhou City to keep pace with contemporary management trends by adopting advanced management concepts, thereby guiding local businesses toward greater standardization, institutionalization, and process-oriented operations.
