Pre-grinding Machine Manufacturer: A Brief Introduction to Pre-grinding Machines

During operation, the pre-polishing machine continuously injects clean water onto the rotating polishing disc. The water-resistant abrasive paper is flung outward from the underside of the disc due to centrifugal force, while atmospheric pressure allows the paper to expand and contract freely, ensuring tight contact with the disc. As a result, there is no need to glue or clamp the abrasive paper, making it extremely convenient to use and replace.
In the preparation of metallographic specimens, preliminary grinding is an essential preliminary step before polishing. Pre-grinding the specimen to a smooth finish significantly enhances the efficiency of the entire preparation process. First, clean water is continuously supplied through a water pipe onto the rotating grinding disc. Under the action of centrifugal force, the abrasive paper floating on the water surface is flung outward from the disc, creating a vacuum. The resulting atmospheric pressure then presses the abrasive paper firmly against the grinding disc, enabling the preliminary grinding operation to proceed. Once the rotation of the grinding disc ceases, this effect disappears, and the abrasive paper can be easily removed.
The preparatory grinder consists of a base made of aluminum castings, grinding discs, and a plastic-pressed polishing cover and lid, among other essential components. Two grinding discs are mounted on the base, enabling simultaneous operation by two users. This preparatory grinder is a wet-type polishing machine that uses water-resistant abrasive papers of various grit sizes to polish specimens of metals and their alloys. By employing this preparatory grinder, not only is the efficiency of specimen preparation enhanced through mechanized polishing instead of manual labor, but also the plastic deformation and surface heating marks generated during specimen cutting are completely eliminated, thereby facilitating subsequent polishing and microscopic examination of the microstructure.
Pre-grinding machine operating procedure:
Clean water continuously flows through the water pipe into the rotating grinding disc. Under the centrifugal force generated by the rotating disc, the sandpaper floating on the water surface is flung outward, creating a vacuum. Atmospheric pressure then presses the sandpaper firmly against the grinding disc, enabling pre-grinding to commence; the grinding disc has a slightly larger diameter than others.
Notes:
1. Please use water to cool the sample during grinding;
2. Due to the faster rotation of the right-hand disk, please use with caution;
3. Please remember to turn off the switch at all times to conserve electricity;
4. If any abnormalities occur during use, discontinue use immediately, promptly turn off the power, and have the equipment repaired by a qualified technician.
5. Ensure the laboratory bench is kept clean.
