The metallographic cutting machine (hereinafter referred to as the “cutting machine”) uses a high-speed rotating thin abrasive wheel to cut metallographic specimens and is widely used in metallographic laboratories for cutting various metallic materials. The machine is equipped with a cooling system that removes the heat generated during the cutting process, thereby preventing the specimen’s metallographic structure from being altered by overheating. This type of metallographic cutting machine can cut a wide range of metallic materials and is also capable of cutting non-metallic materials such as plastics and rubber hoses.
The cutting grinding wheel is directly mounted on the motor shaft, and the specimen clamped in the jaws is cut by the oscillating motion of the saw frame. The motor is fixed to the base, with its shaft fitted into a bearing sleeve, and the grinding wheel is secured by a nut and a clamp. A saw frame that can rotate about a horizontal axis is mounted on a bracket at the front of the motor. A rotating handle actuates the movable jaw to clamp the specimen in the holder. As the saw frame rotates, the specimen is cut. The cooling system allows manual adjustment of the coolant flow via a knob mounted on a stopcock, with the coolant exiting through a rubber hose fixed to the back of the base. During operation, the grinding wheel is enclosed by a guard to prevent coolant from splashing and to protect against the wheel flying off and causing injury.
Features of the metallographic cutting machine:
1. The extra-large cutting chamber enables the machine to cut large metallographic specimens;
2. The dual-drive vise and the “T-slot” worktable facilitate the clamping of various irregularly shaped workpieces;
3. Equipped with a coolant filtration system; features a cutting illumination system;
4. The cutting chamber and water tank have been treated with anti-corrosion coating.
